Hombre de Nieve

The kids and I recorded this in the classroom the other day. I think it's great for them to listen to themselves speaking in the target language. They get very excited and involved when we do this.  The children can relate to it and to the magic of having a white winter. It's about a Snow Man (Muñeco de Nieve) that likes to dance.

Un muñeco de nieve soy
Y en invierno bailo mejor.(2)

Una bola grande
Una bola mediana
Otra más pequeña
Para la cabeza

Un muñeco de nieve soy
Y en invierno bailo mejor (3)

Muevo asi los brazos
Muevo así los pies
Muevo así el sombrero
1,2 y 3

Mi Burrito Sabanero

This is one of the many songs we sing in P.R  and Columbia during the holidays. Puerto Ricans and Columbias celebrate the longest known festivities in the world. For Puerto Ricans, the holidays can symbolically last until the Fiestas de San Sebastian in late January. We celebrate The Three Kings and las Octavitas with a lot of fervor. We eat, sing and are truly merry most of  the time. We miss the winter holidays more than any other festivities. I adapted this song for the children. They truly enjoy singing the Tuqui Tuqui part.

Week 3- Mi Escuelita

This song was sang to me by my Montessori teachers some decades ago. It's one of the songs I've never forgotten from my childhood. I loved this song when I was younger.
